9.17.16 Armenian Harvest Festival
On Saturday, September 17th, the Armenian Harvest Festival was held in the UConn Alumni Drive. Featured activities consisted of a traditional Armenian dance, a chance to travel to Armenia through a photobooth, workshops such as making Armenian string cheese, and participating in the art of rug weaving. Guests also had the option of attending a lecture on grape cultivation in Armenia. The evening ended with a humorous performance in the Student Union theater.
Special thanks to Maggie Stepanian for an interesting presentation of making string cheese, Hayk Oltaci for an interactive rug weaving session, Dr. Nelli Hovhannisyan for an intellectual seminar on wine production in Armenia and Lousine Shamamian for an entertaining performance.
